How to Send Fragile Items Safely in Lagos

Fragile items — glassware, electronics, ceramics, cosmetics — are the hardest category of packages to move across Lagos. Potholes, sudden braking, Third Mainland Bridge traffic… none of it is friendly to a poorly-packed box. Here is how we recommend sending fragile packages with Prisdanna Express.

1. The box is doing the real work

Double-walled cardboard, ideally brand new. If you're reusing a box, make sure it has not already been compressed or water-damaged. A softened box is a failed box.

2. Cushioning is non-negotiable

Every fragile item needs at least 5cm of cushioning on every side. Bubble wrap, foam peanuts, even tightly-crumpled newsprint all work. The item should not shift when you shake the box.

3. Label "Fragile" generously

When you book, select the fragile package type. Our riders are briefed before pickup when a delivery is marked fragile — they choose bike bags with padding and take softer routes when possible.

4. Photograph before handover

Quick phone photo of the sealed package. In the very rare case of a dispute, a pre-pickup image removes all ambiguity.

5. Use OTP confirmation at drop-off

Our OTP system means the receiver has to read out a 4-digit code. Nothing leaves the rider's hands until that code is confirmed. For fragile items we recommend the receiver inspect the seal before reading the code out.

Follow these five steps and you will almost never have a fragile loss. And on the rare occasions something does go wrong, every Prisdanna delivery is fully traceable through our real-time tracking page.
